i first tried yoga in 2008 at my university's gym while studying literature and history. the poses and devotional discipline soon inspired a lifelong study of the body, breath and internal awareness. through yoga studios in montréal, toronto and stratford, I am grateful to have learned from diverse teachers, yoga backgrounds, books and modern approaches. i had the good fortune to attend over 1000 hours in yoga teacher trainings, including the renowned donna farhi's modern art of teaching and 200 hours within the traditional hatha lineage of mahayogi gokulacandra das. since beginning to teach in 2017 i have focused on creating safe, accessible classes for all body types and abilities. with a hint of my love of poetry, my approach encourages appropriate difficulty thresholds, anatomical self-inquiry, and deep somatic relaxation to nurture the unique body, breath and mind of each student.
